Imagine an ordinary woman accidentally becoming an expert in language and grammar overnight. How would this affect her life? Would it broaden her personal and professional horizons, or would it marginalize her from her environment?

Let us also suppose that a reputed neuroscientist decides to subject her to an intensive process of linguistic deprogramming, the opposite of that carried out by Dr. Higgins with Liza Doolittle in Bernard Shaw's "Pygmalion". Instead of refining her verbal expression, the objective would be to return her to her original state of expressive limitation in order to avoid problems of social adaptation after her accident.
