About the event
Moonlight Shadow, To France, Family Man, Foreign Affair... are just some of the Mike Oldfield songs that topped the charts in the 80s. All of them have as common denominator the incomparable voice of the Scottish singer Maggie Reilly, inseparable singer of the pop stage of the British composer.
Maggie Reilly not only owes her international prestige to her work with Mike Oldfield. Her solo career includes great hits such as Everytime we Touch (which became a massive hit in 2006) or Tears in the Rain.
Currently, Maggie Reilly tours regularly in the UK and Germany.
Opus One is a project created to perform Mike Oldfield's music on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the publication of his most important works. Its world premiere took place on May 25, 2023, the exact date of the 50th anniversary of the publication of Tubular Bells, with a streaming concert that was watched live by more than 4,500 people. To date it has more than 1.4 million plays.
Its first public concert was in June 2023 at the Palau de la Música in Barcelona with Maggie Reilly, with a total success both artistically and with the public. Subsequently, Opus One has performed at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid, at the Cartuja Center CITE in Seville or at the Teatro Coliseum in Barcelona, among other important concert halls, participating in events such as the cycle Palau Fronteres (2023 and 2024) or Guitar BCN 2024.
