The Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació de Tarragona celebrated La Nit del Turisme de la Costa Daurada i de les Terres de l'Ebre. The San Miguel Tarraco Arena hosted for the first time the 28th edition of the event, which brought together nearly 500 people from the sector. Representatives of the institutions, entities and tourism companies of the province listened carefully to the future needs of Tourism to remain one of the most important tourist destinations, in a year in which overnight stays have suffered a slight decline compared to 2017, an "exceptional" year. 

The president of the Diputació de Tarragona, Josep Poblet; the Councilor for Enterprise and Knowledge of the Generalitat, Àngels Chacón, and the president of the Patronat de Turisme de la Diputació, Martí Carnicer, stressed the importance of quality, innovation and specialization as key factors for tourism growth, visitor loyalty and maintaining the strength of the sector. 

"The Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre are well-known and recognized, solvent and consolidated destinations. The public and private sectors are working together to make this happen. The way we work already incorporates, and still has to do so with more intensity in the future, values such as quality, innovation and competitiveness, key for the future," said Josep Poblet, who added: "We can qualify this 2018 as a positive exercise but one that marks a turning point," he said. The president also said that to be a benchmark destination, visitors must be "satisfied and be able to say that they have found quality services".
