The Tarragona Provincial Council Tourist Board celebrated The Night of Tourism on the Costa Daurada and Terres de l’Ebre. For the first time, San Miguel Tarraco Arena hosted the 28th edition of the event, bringing together nearly 500 people from the industry. Representatives from institutions, organizations, and tourism companies in the province carefully listened to the future needs of Tourism to remain one of the most important tourist destinations, in a year where overnight stays saw a slight decrease compared to 2017, an 'exceptional' year. 

The president of the Tarragona Provincial Council, Josep Poblet; the Minister of Business and Knowledge of the Generalitat, Àngels Chacón; and the president of the Provincial Tourism Board, Martí Carnicer, all highlighted how important quality, innovation, and specialization are. They said these are the key things for tourism to grow, for visitors to keep coming back, and for the sector to stay strong. 

Josep Poblet pointed out, "The Costa Daurada and Terres de l’Ebre are well-known and respected destinations, reliable and established. Both public and private sectors work together to make sure this happens. Our way of working already includes, and needs to include even more in the future, values like quality, innovation, and competitiveness – these are super important for what's ahead." He also added, "We can say 2018 was a good year, but it also marked a turning point." The president also mentioned that for a destination to be a real standout, visitors need to be "satisfied and be able to say they found quality services."
